Any.do vs cal11/16/2023 ![]() It’s easy to use, multi-lingual and fosters collaboration. If you want an effective task management app for personal or workplace use, then Any.do is an excellent choice. Any.do offers much more features than these competitors, mainly with its external integrations. Any.do: The competitionĪny.do’s main competitors include Todoist, TickTick, and Habitica. There’s no live chat or telephone support, which we consider a drawback. Otherwise, you can contact the company through a form on its official website and expect an email response within 24 to 48 hours. If you encounter any difficulties when using Any.do, you can seek help from the official Knowledge Base, which contains extensive user guides, video tutorials, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) concerning the app. For example, managing multiple integrations with third-party apps on Any.do can be challenging. But, there’s a steep learning curve if you want to use the app’s advanced features. The platform has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to go back and forth between different features. For example, you can exchange tasks between Todoist and Any.do. It even integrates with rival task management apps like Todoist and Microsoft To Do. This aspect of the app is valuable for workplace teams that want to foster collaboration.Īnother remarkable thing about Any.do is that it has integrations with over 3,000 apps. You can also act as an administrator and create and assign tasks to specific users. For example, other users can add comments to tasks that you create to help you understand them better. You can invite other Any.do users to work on tasks as one team. One excellent feature we observed in Any.do is collaboration. You can also group each task under specific categories, and this feature comes in handy when you have multiple tasks and want to sort them out. Likewise, you can add comments to clarify every task. You can also add a group of subtasks attached to a specific task. You can set a reminder so that the app will alert you to complete the task as when due. After creating a task, there are many more things you can do with it. There’s a create a task button that’s clearly visible on the dashboard. Choosing the latter options makes the sign-up process faster.Īfter signing up, the first feature to get familiar with is creating tasks. You can sign up directly with your email or your Facebook, Google, or Apple ID accounts. Just head to the official website and locate the sign-up form. Until Cal can make event creation that's on par with some of the other third party alternatives, particularly Fantastical, those users will most likely stay right where they're at.Signing up on Any.do is easy. I personally use Fantastical on a daily basis and I'd be hard pressed to switch to a calendar app that can't make creating events just as easy, if not easier, than what I'm already using. The hard sell will be to people who already using a calendar service such as Agenda or Fantastical. If you want to see some of that now, Cal can give you a sneak preview without having to wait for fall. It's also very reminiscent of what we will see this fall when iOS 7 is released from the revamped native Calendars app. If you don't use Any.Do and use the default calendar app, it still may be a nice alternative that requires less work to create events. Switching between calendars has to be done manuallyįor users that are already using Any.Do for task creation, Cal is a great option that gives you even tighter integration between tasks and actual calendar events.Natural language support is very limited and doesn't understand times, dates, and locations yet.Ties in to Any.Do's task app, which makes it a nice calendar alternative for anyone already using Any.Do.Adding contacts and locations is easy and takes the work out of finding the contact or location in separate apps.Nice UI that'll match the interface of iOS 7 quite well.Cal will then append a map to the entry for easy access to driving directions. Any.Do will start looking around you for locations matching your search criteria. If you'd like to add a location, just tap on the location pin and search for one. After selecting a contact just select the date and time and you're done. This makes it easy to contact them later on if you need to without having to weed through the native Contacts app. Just tap on the one that you'd like to pair with that particular event and they'll be added. As I mentioned earlier, Cal ties into your contacts so as you're typing someone's name it pulls in contacts that match.
